2.  ( 2 x - 6 )² - 20 = 4 x² - 24 x + 36 - 20 = 4 x² - 24 x + 16

3.  4 x² - 24 x + 16 = 0
Δ = 576 - 4 ( 4 * 16 ) = 576 - 256 =  320 =  ( 8 √5 )²

x 1 = ( 24 - 8 √5) / 8 =  3 - √5

x 2 = ( 24 + 8 √5 ) / 8 =  3 + √5
