pour obtenir  44  

x² - 5 = 44

x² =  49

x = 7  

pour obtenir  0

x² - 5 = 0

x ² =  5

il faut choisir √ 5 ou  - √5

pour obtenir  -  9

x² - 5 = - 9

x²  = - 9 + 5

x² =  - 4
