Par exemple :  il serait plus correct d'écrire :

1. She was having a bath when someone knocked at the door.

(  Elle prenait un bain quand quelqu'un a frappé à la porte. )

2. They were jumping on the bed when their father arrived.

( Ils sautaient sur le lit quand leur père est arrivé. )

3. He broke a plate when he was cooking.

( Il a cassé une assiette en cuisinant. )
